We started this blog because the same five questions kept coming up on the phone, and we figured it'd save everyone time to write the answers down. What we cover: real prices for the jobs we actually do in Katy (no "starting at $99" nonsense - that quote always gets revised once the crew shows up), what we can and can't take on the truck, when to call a hauler versus when to rent a roll-off dumpster, what actually happens to your stuff once it leaves the curb (where we donate, where we recycle, where we have to landfill), and a running log of the weirdest things we've hauled out of west-Houston garages this year. A few questions we get every week and plan to write up first: - "Will you take my hot tub?" Yes, almost always. Some math on price up front beats the back-and-forth. - "Can I just pile everything at the curb?" Not in most Katy HOAs, and not legally if it's more than a Saturday morning's worth. We can usually beat what an HOA fine would cost. - "Do you take TVs?" Yes - including the big tube TVs you can't lift alone. Best Buy and the Katy Recycling Center on Franz Road also take electronics free; if you can get there yourself it's the cheaper option. - "What if I have asbestos popcorn ceiling in a pile on the floor?" Different conversation entirely. We won't touch friable asbestos - we'll point you to a qualified abatement contractor. - "How do you keep my walls safe going around a tight corner?" Our crew brings dollies, straps, and corner protection, and we move slow through doorways. We take real care with your home while we work.
